Ignition Research exists to make research and industry genuinely work together — and where a match between a business problem and a university capability shows real potential, we help both sides take it all the way: shaping the joint research program, structuring the partnership, and supporting applications under Australia's collaborative research funding schemes.
ARC Linkage Projects
The Australian Research Council's Linkage Projects scheme funds genuine research collaboration between universities and industry partners. We have supported Linkage applications end to end — helping businesses and researchers scope the joint research question, structure the partnership and prepare the proposal.
Australia's Economic Accelerator (AEA)
AEA funds the journey from promising university research toward commercial reality. We have supported university–industry teams in preparing AEA applications, helping research that started in the lab move along the commercialisation pathway.
Beyond the application
Grant or no grant, we run the joint research itself — scoping, experiment design, evidence and reporting — under one governance framework, so the collaboration delivers findings rather than just paperwork. That is how research and industry actually converge.
